US officials said they were probing more cases of patients who may have been exposed to excess radiation from CT brain scans involving equipment from GE and Toshiba Machine Co., Ltd.
Food and Drug Administration officials have not determined if there was a problem with the machines themselves or with how they were used said, Dr. Jeffrey Shuren, acting director of the FDA's device center.

General Dynamics Information Technology, a business unit of General Dynamics, has been awarded an $18.6 million, five-year contract to support the U.S. Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division (NSWCCD), Philadelphia, PA, under the Seaport-e contract vehicle.
Under this contract, General Dynamics will provide engineering and technical support of machinery control, machinery information and machinery automation systems.

Ford Motor Credit, the finance arm of Ford Motor Company, is planning to sell a new issue of bonds due 2020.
Net proceeds of the bond sale will go toward Ford Motor Credit's general funds, according to the filing, and will be available for the purchase of receivables, for loans and for use in connection with the retirement of debt. Price guidance for the new offer, which is estimated to be $1 billion in size, has the notes yielding in the area of 8.25%-8.375%.

Ford, after decades of developing vehicle platforms with Japanese affiliate Mazda Motor Corp., intends to go it alone for future models.
"For a lot of designing and engineering, we're going to be focused on Ford," Mark Fields, Ford's president for the Americas, said on the sidelines of the Los Angeles Auto Show. "Our efforts will be focused on the Ford system, as opposed to relying on others such as Mazda."

Walmart declared a regular quarterly dividend in the amount of $.2725 per share payable January 4, 2010 to shareholders of record on December 11, 2009, ex-dividend date December 9, 2009.
Walmart is an S&P Dividend Aristocrat. At today's $54.75 stock price the dividend yield is 1.99%.

Kuwait Investment Authority or KIA, the country's sovereign wealth fund, said it sold a $4.1 billion stake in Citigroup.
The KIA said it made a $1.1 billion profit, or a 36.7% return on its investment, according to the emailed statement. The KIA invested $3 billion in Citibank at the beginning of 2008, the authority added.

Bristol-Myers Squibb and Pfizer announced that the companies are planning to submit an application for regulatory approval of apixaban in Europe for the prevention of venous thromboembolism (VTE) after orthopaedic surgery in the first half of 2010.
The application will be supported by ADVANCE-2 and ADVANCE-3, two clinical trials that evaluated apixaban versus the European dosing regimen of for prevention of VTE in patients undergoing orthopaedic surgery.
