Las Vegas Sands Corp. (LVS)
Sand Las Vegas said Thursday it lost $123 million, or 19 cents per share, during the third quarter, compared with a loss of $32.2 million, or 9 cents per share, a year earlier. Its quaterly revenue rose 3.2 percent to $1.14 billion, compared with $1.11 billion during the same quarter last year.
Revenue fell shy of analysts' predictions of $1.17 billion.

BMC Software (BMC)
BMC, a business software company, said it had GAAP net income for the fiscal second quarter of $94.2 million or $0.50 per share, compared to $69.8 million or $0.36 per share for the year-ago quarter. Total revenue for the second quarter decreased 1% to $461.8 million from $466.7 million in the same quarter last year.
Earnings top analysts' estimates.

MetLife (MET)
MetLife said it had a third-quarter net loss of $620 million, or 79 cents a share, compared with net income of $630 million, or 83 cents, in the year-earlier period. Premiums and other revenue at the MetLife business that sells coverage to companies, including retirement plans and employee benefits, slipped about 8 percent to $4.2 billion, while the unit’s operating earnings dropped 21 percent to $311 million on lower investment income.

RealNetworks said it earned $1.5 million, and broke even on a per-share basis, in the third quarter, compared with a loss of $4.5 million, or 3 cents per share a year ago. Third-quarter revenue fell 8 percent to $140.3 million compared with a year ago

McAfee announced today that it had third-quarter earnings of $36.8 million, or 23 cents a share, down from $48.8 million, or 31 cents a share, a year earlier. Revenue jumped 18% to $485.3 million amid a 25% increase in North America. International revenue grew 11%.

Alcoa has signed a cooperation agreement with Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China Ltd (COMAC) to help develop China's new passenger jet, the head of Alcoa's aerospace division said.

Colgate reported a profit of $590 million, or $1.12 a share, up from $500 million, or 94 cents a share, a year earlier. The prior-year period included 5 cents a share in restructuring-related charges. Colgate's revenue was flat at $3.99 billion.

Allergan (AGN)
Drug company Allergen said its third-quarter earnings increased to $179 million, or 58 cents per share, from $165 million, or 54 cents per share, in the year-earlier period. The company said global sales rose 4.2 percent to $1.13 billion in the quarter, topping analysts' expectations of $1.08 billion
Results were helped by rebound in Botox sales.
